First Week in Bali

We just arrived in Bali, and it feels like getting beamed into another universe. Ancient Hindu culture. Beauty everywhere. But this is NOT Indian Hinduism…it’s something more akin to shamanism. We first went to the Temple of Petitenget in Seminyak to pay our respects to the Gods. That was the right thing to do, as since that day things have been going very smoothly. Then we went to visit the Temple of Death, which was also very amazing. We took a taxi to Ubud, a city one hour away from Denpasar, to check it out for a possible living area.…

We go from Bhutan to Bali and make an offering

Hi everyone. It was a week of travel in spite of the corona virus. All is well. We’ve arrived in Bali for the next chapter of our lives – I’m not sure what this will hold. In Paro, Bhutan, my 8-year old niece Pari’ came to eat breakfast with her Auntie Jane. This was her very first experience eating with a fork and knife! She usually eats with her hands or sometimes a spoon. At first she was quite confused, but with a tiny bit of coaching and encouragement she did an amazing job. Fancy napkins and fashionable sunglasses go…

Good Luck and Success from the Temple Guardians

The temple guardians were with us today! To finish the final video for my book “Heal Your Past Lives”, we had to befriend Vaiśravaṇa, the chief of the Four Heavenly Kings who guards the North direction. Here he is behind me in the clouds. The Four Great Kings guard the entrance to the Paro Rinpung Dzong, and the four cardinal directions. Each of the kings are leaders of a semi-divine class of beings in their own realm, to uphold and teach the path to enlightenment while destroying obstacles and surveying their realm. Always ready to protect the Dharma, they are surrounded by fire…

Lama D returns, and I make a book video

Hello everyone, It’s been an exciting week. Lama D came back to Bhutan. I’m very happy to see him. We’re are deciding what to do next. I’ve been working on making videos to introduce the books, finishing proposals, and creating digital images for the Buddha quotes. Paro is still very cold in the wintertime, so we’re planning to spend some time in Bali, to check out possible places to stay and locations for retreats. The first two videos will be made in the Rinpung Dzong, the biggest monastery in Paro. This week I made the video below to introduce my…

Creating videos and illustrations for my books…

Thanks to the awesome guidance of Andrea Adler, my brilliant holistic PR Marketing Maven, I finished the first video. My agent will use it to present my books to publishers. I have two more videos to go. The Wheel of Life with the foot of Yama, the King of Death, is one of my favorite video backgrounds. The process of finishing the books and finding a publisher is proving to be a LOT more involved than I imagined. Andrea now lives in Santa Fe, and we have many friends in common. Although I haven’t seen any offers yet, I firmly believe…

Video Trials, Solitary Nights, Unexpected Perfection in Paro

Hello friend. I hope you are well. Everything is perfect here in Paro, Bhutan. However perfection is -um -sometimes very unexpected and surprising. Uh Oh! Is this discomfort? Could this perhaps be what the Buddha called “suffering”? Or “stress”? We’re all learning that happiness and perfection are always a question of perspective. I’m learning to hone my thoughts and to notice my mind’s shenanigans! The mind is quite flexible, you know. And since we can control our viewpoint every moment, I choose to see my life as perfection. I hope you see yours that way too. This isn’t a sweet-faced…

Master Li Hongzhi on Aliens

This is a transcript of a video by Master Li Hongzhi on aliens. About aliens, Li claimed that extraterrestrial aliens are actively intervening in human affairs. Li claimed that aliens developed and introduced the technology used by humans today. Li has denounced modern technology as part of an alien plot to undermine morality. Li believes that human interventions, such as mechanical flight and electronic computers were given to humans by aliens. One type of alien looks like a human but has a nose made of bone he confided. Others resemble ghosts. The extraterrestrials who arrived circa 1909 have not been…

My family puja, the annual blessing in Punakha, Bhutan

In Bhutan the annual blessing ceremony is a big gathering. The family puja usually happens in January – to Americans it’s something like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s all rolled into one. This year we all came to the family rice farm in Punakha. We spent three days celebrating, eating, praying, and playing. Only Lama D was detained in Nepal. This photo is from last year’s festivities. I chased this beautiful rooster all over the farm for three days. But he ran away every time, following his hens and pecking at rice and grass. Finally on the last day…
