Hello friends, and happy holidays. I’m still in Santa Fe, and leaving for Bhutan soon. I gave Santa my Christmas wish. I asked him for a publisher for my books.
Yes, this Saturday December 21st is the Winter Solstice, the shortest and darkest day of the year. I try to remember to be introspective and kind to people this week, because the lack of light and stirred-up tensions seem to make everything seem more intensely squeezed and strange. Every year during this time I feel quite volatile, like maybe I’m going to crack some days. But now I’m older and getting wise to the pattern, so I remind myself that everything is fine. The Winter Solstice is a day of darkness, a day of retreat, a day that reminds us the joy of going inward, to touch the silence where we will find our own light. Please have a beautiful holidays and be at ease.
Christmas in Santa Fe is truly special. Every year we light up the Plaza at the center of town. The beauty of the lights amid the chilly air is simply breathtaking!
Christmas lights at the Santa Fe Plaza are especially colorful this year!
An auspicious serendipty! My good friend Andrea Adler happens to be in Santa Fe. She’s a brilliant author, holistic PR marketing maven, and practitioner of a spiritual lineage closely related to mine. It is magical to work together with her in multiple areas for mutual benefit. Find her holistic pr website here. Check out her books here.
I went to Handel’s Messiah at the Lensic theater in Santa Fe with friends. It was a treat to enjoy again the world that was once my classic music profession.
Oh my! I was terrified to have some professional photos taken. I went to Anton Brkic of Pixel Images at DeVargas Center. It was frightening, but we got through it thanks to his patience, encouragement and the ability to make me laugh. I want to professionalize my book covers, proposals, and websites.
My six book proposals are out to publishers and agents. I feel closer to finding a publisher. I hope to have some clarity on this before leaving the US for Bhutan
I used one of Anton’s photos to accompany my book “Heal Your Past Lives”.
What do Bhutanese folks love that fits in a suitcase? Crazy American socks! It’s time to pack my suitcases full of goodies for everybody in the family.
I’ll be arriving in Bhutan as Mrs. Santa. Oh boy! I received some interesting requests from family for gifts. Whenever possible I try to fill them. A handbag, a Kindle, shoes, sunglasses, slippers, boots, iPhones, a skeleton watch, makeup, all approved by them via a social networking photo like the above. Sometimes I just say no. Yep, my suitcases will be full.
Calendars are a fun gift. In Bhutan they don’t use monthly calendars much. I see a one-page calendar in every living room with tiny print that’s hard to read. Hopefully my family will enjoy these colorful ones. Ha Ha!
Thanks for stopping by.
I’m packing my bags to leave Santa Fe soon, to take the long 36-hour trip to Paro, Bhutan. I need to arrive in time for our annual family puja ceremony in January. Happy Holidays to you!
