DEPRESSION is NOT a DISEASE

DEPRESSION is just a name we use to describe many different emotional chemistry patterns in the brain and body. In Western medicine, all these patterns are neatly rolled up into one easy diagnostic term: DEPRESSION. But the root causes are rarely discussed, and true healing methods mostly unknown. Depression is something we do to ourselves over time. It takes years of habitual stress, emotions, tensions, thoughts, foods, and lifestyle imbalances to create a “Perfect Storm” for Depression.

What are the Causes and Solutions to Depression?
DEPRESSION is caused by emotional stress, unconscious anger over time, brain chemistry suppression, and microbiome imbalance. It’s that simple; but it’s a tight knot to unravel. You can heal DEPRESSION with Knowledge, Qigong, Movement, Meditation, Diet, and Detox Lifestyle. Yes you can. Here is the knowledge you’ll need.

According to Dr. Michael Nehls, “Depression is not a disease, it is the end point of a pathological process. It is a sign that our lives are out of balance, that we’re stuck. It’s a wake-up call and the start of a journey that can help us become whole and happy, a journey that can change and transform our lives.”

Takeaway:

  1. Depression is the most widespread disease in the world, according to the WHO, World Health Organization. Over 280 million people have been diagnosed with depression as of 2024, and millions more are unreported.
  2. Depression in Chinese Medicine has many diagnoses. It is one of many imbalances, seen as an excess or deficiency in the Liver, Heart, Lung, or Triple Heater meridians.

1. Depression is the most widespread disease in the world, according to the WHO.

Depression manifests as low life energy, suppressed brain function, and increased risk of death. Over 280 million people have been diagnosed with depression as of 2024, and millions more are unreported.

Depression doesn’t kill you, but it makes death more likely. A recent study of 23 694 individuals found a higher risk of all-cause, cardiovascular disease, and ischemic heart disease mortality among adults with moderate to severe depressive symptoms compared to those without depressive symptoms.

Depression Rates by Country 2024

Symptoms of Depression May Include:

  • Chronic grief or sadness
  • No interest in activities previously enjoyed
  • Change in appetite – weight loss or gain
  • Insomnia, difficulty sleeping or sleeping too much
  • Low energy, increased fatigue
  • Slower movements and speech
  • Self-image feeling guilty or worthless
  • Difficulty focusing
  • Low self-esteem
  • Negative, pessimistic attitude
  • Self-harm or suicidal thoughts tendencies

Depression, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and neuro-emotional diseases like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc. are at an all-time high. Blockbuster prescriptions earn billions of dollars on them. Many people find relief, however NONE of these drugs treat the CAUSE of the chemical imbalance. Instead, they treat the superficial symptoms and come with a host of frightening side effects.

2. Depression in Chinese Medicine has many diagnoses.

What we call “DEPRESSION” in the West, Chinese medicine sees is as one of many possible patterns of excess or deficiency in the Liver, Heart, Lungs, or Triple Heater meridians.

Based on the TCM theory, “Depression” is a chronic chemical emotional imbalance that gets established during periods of “CUMS” Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress, worry, and anxiety. Extreme emotional changes can cause a habitual pattern of “yu” or “yu-zheng” which literally means “not flowing, entangled, blocked, or stuck”.

A healthy emotional state requires smooth and free flow of Qi energy and blood. The Liver organ has a major responsibility to manage blood and Qi throughout the body. When the Liver Qi and blood are flowing smoothly, our emotions are calm and peaceful. However, if the Liver is toxic, fatty, or not functioning well and its energy is stuck or stagnant, this will bring emotional distress that we recognize as “Depression” as well as other physical discomforts.

When emotional changes are strong and last for a long time, this can give rise to a deep imbalance in the entire autonomic nervous system (ANS). Chronic Depression can be the result.

Four Common Depression Syndromes in Chinese Medicine:

  1. Liver Qi Stagnation – Caused by Deep Seeded Anger and Chronic Tension
  2. Heart Deficient Qi – From Chronic Stress, Sadness, Disappointment, Betrayal
  3. Endocrine, Triple Heater – Vagus Nerve Imbalance, Brain to Gut Blockage
  4. Lung Deficiency, Stagnant Phlegm – After a Loss, Deep Grief, Anxiety

These are just a few of the most common Depression syndromes in Chinese medicine. Each one is diagnosed and treated differently by stimulating various acupuncture points with a pulse reading. For more about Depression in Chinese Medicine, see: Dr Xiang Jun’s website: Everything you need to know about Depression – from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Western Medicine.

However, the good news is that ALL Depression syndromes can be healed with the changes in Diet, Qigong, Lifestyle, and Supplements.

3. How Does Depression Lead to Alzheimer’s Disease?

Dr. Michael Nehls, medical doctor and internationally renowned molecular geneticist, explains the global assault and on the human brain and the science behind Depression and Alzheimer’s in his book “The Indoctrinated Brain”.

Del sits down with physician and molecular geneticist, Dr. Michael Nehls to discuss his latest book, The Indoctrinated Brain, which delves into the intricacies of brain mechanisms, emphasizing the critical role of maintaining hippocampal health. This goes beyond safeguarding against diseases like Alzheimer’s; it extends to fortifying the mind against indoctrination.

The hippocampus is a critical organ on both sides of the brain that is essential in forming, retrieving memories, spatial navigation, and emotions. Shrinkage of the hippocampus is one of the first signs of depression and Alzheimer’s.

When the Hippocampus is suppressed, new synapses are not created. Psychological resilience to stress decreases, memory is reduced, depression is likely, and risk of Alzheimer’s increases. Shutting down the hippocampus leads to low curiosity, no exploring, low resilience to stress, and distrust of change.

In a suppressed Hippocampus society, new information is stressful. We have no resilience to accept other opinions. We are triggered by the slightest stress. All anti-depression pharmaceuticals on the market work by stimulating the hippocampus.

If you want to dominate a society and control thoughts of a society, you have to attack the hippocampus index cells production in each individual to suppress them.

Hippocampus suppression is a mind-control war of controlled narratives. “Don’t think. Don’t question.” The new technology and electronic suggestions suppress hippocampus natural curiosity. The attempt is to install a new operating system in our brains. The result will be a society of depression, which is a clinical marker for reduced or blocked nerve growth in the hippocampus.

Fearmongering produces the same brain effects as if we had actually experienced the terrible event in real life. Fearmongering creates reduced resilience, and the neurogenesis drops even more. Vicious cycle of exhaustion, depression, Alzheimer’s, and Brain Fog. It’s happening all around us, in fact from 2019 to 2020 the increase in depression was 3X 3-fold.

What can we do? The natural inhibitor of suppression of the hippocampus is Lithium. Even 1 mg of Lithium supplement per day can stop Alzheimer’s. Fish from ocean, mussels, etc. have 100 times more lithium than fresh water. Omega 3 fatty acids from fish. Lithium is an essential trace element with no side effects that activates new neuron growth, promotes autophage or getting rid of old cells in the brain. Lithium is a natural antidote to depression, and it is needed for mental health. Lithium helpful for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and for depression.

Reshaping the Cognitive Battlefield
We are fighting just one war. It is the war against the brain that directs us to confusion and to demand a global government, which will be very harmful to humanity. This global attack on the nervous system, is simply a chronic suppression of the hippocampus.

4. Heal Depression with a Healthy Diet

Everyone tells me they eat a healthy diet. But then they suffer from mysterious illnesses and Depression. I wish I had a dollar for every person who tells me they eat a healthy diet, but feel sick. The devil is in the details.

I’ll give it to you straight. If you are eating addictive foods that cause a transitory “high”, you are a huge candidate for depression. If you consume sugar, wheat, caffeine, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, msg, or restaurant food, you do not have a healthy diet. Every “high” is followed by a “low”. If you eat vegetable oils, grocery store veggies, if you eat sprayed foods, processed grains, or flour of any kind, you are not eating healthy, and you are inviting  chronic disease.

Changing our habits is uncomfortable, so we tend to resist this type of change until it’s a matter of life or death. Our food has been altered in the last 50 years, so what you could squeak by with before is no longer tolerable.

Here are a few dietary ground rules:

  • Bless your food and water with heart-felt gratitude and prayer.
  • Eat light, regular meals of mostly vegetables. Everyone’s diet needs are unique. Don’t worry about vegetarian, vegan, meat, etc. Listen to your body.
  • Eat 100% organic if you want complete nutrition and a living microbiome.
  • Oils: Eat only organic coconut oil, grass-fed butter, or ghee.
  • Avoid all sugars, sweets, wheat, caffeine, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, msg, and restaurant food. These are neuro excito-toxins, bringing temporary ups and down create your brain chemistry imbalance.
  • Eat lots of green vegetables within 24 hours of harvesting – which means you need your own garden, or you shop farm fresh every day.
  • Eat varied foods to promote gut bacteria that produce mood-boosting neurotransmitters.
  • Eat real food and avoid processed foods. According to one 2009 study, a processed food diet may increase your risk of depression by as much as 60%, whereas a whole food diet is protective.
  • Eat fermented foods like Kimchee, cultured vegetables, yogurt.
  • Practice careful food combining to promote healthy digestion in the stomach.
  • I.e. avoid eating proteins with carbs as their chemistry does not harmonize.
  • Between meals eat fresh fruits. Never combine fruits with other foods.
  • Drink 2 ½ liters of clean water every day between meals.
  • Eat heaviest meals early in the day, with your last meal around 4:00 or 5:00, to promote healthy sleep and stem cell activation.
  • Eat a highly alkaline diet. Follow the Alkaline Diet per Dr. Robert O Young.
  • Take baking soda per Dr. Robert O. Young’s pH Miracle.
  • Practice fasting to clear toxins out of the body. I fast one day per week.
  • Eat 100% chocolate, healthy anti-oxidant, no sugar
  • Avoid the items mentioned in the AVOID section below
  • If you follow this regimen, within a few weeks your chemistry will begin to re-align.

5. Qigong and Lifestyle Practices to Heal Depression

My Qigong Master Lam Kam Chuen in London

The mind leads the body, so there really is no separation between the mind and the body. When you’re trying to become unstuck, what better way to mobilize yourself than through physical movement? When you exercise you will feel better. Movement is a simple way to help overcome the feelings of hopelessness that come with depression.

Qigong
There are many types of Qigong, and countless lineages. All are beneficial. Find a good Qigong teacher and practice it a few times a week.

Walking, and exercise of all kinds increase levels of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine. Exercise is the single-best approach to relieving mild depression.

Sunlight Exposure – Go walking outside in the sun every day. If you live in a sun-deprived area of the world, take a Vitamin D supplement.

Full Body Detox – Choose a Detox protocol that you can live with. Eliminate toxins from the digestion, liver, kidneys, lymph, and blood. I offer a 90-Day Lymphatic Detox.

Especially Heavy Metal Detox- Clear the body of Aluminum, Mercury, Lead, etc. I detox heavy metals with Chlorella. There are many other methods.

Coffee Enema twice a week to clear Liver Qi and filter blood.

Complete Parasite cleanse for a few months every year. I recommend the parasite protocols by Dr. Lee Merritt and Dr. Axe.

Meditation helps train the mind and spirit to co-exist in harmony. Meditation can combat overstimulation and influence of social media and cyber addiction.

More Ways to Activate the Brain Hippocampus to Stay Healthy:

  • Build happy relationships
  • Learn something new
  • Eat Ocean Fatty Fish
  • Eat Blueberries
  • Do Mental Gymnastics
  • Eat 100% Chocolate
  • Meditate
  • Switch things up, do common actions with the other hand or foot
  • Stay connected to Nature
  • Do Brain Balancing

6. Emotional Clearing Therapies to Dissolve Depression

How to cleanse old emotional baggage?
We all hold memories and fragments of past traumas, periods of stress that we have not yet been able to dissolve. This psychic distress builds up in the body and mind, especially under chronic periods of tension or anxiety, and leads to depression or disease. It’s time to clear them away.

Suggested therapies that I offer to clean out the heavy weight you carry:

8. Supplements Can Help Reverse the Brain Chemistry Pattern in Depression.

a. Sunlight and Vitamin D Supplements
Sunlight has a massive effect on the brain’s chemical processes. Researchers have discovered the effects of sunlight as an effective therapy to alleviate mood disorders like depression. Regular sun exposure is the best way to get enough vitamin D. To maintain healthy blood levels, try to get 10-30 minutes of midday sunlight, 3-4 times per week, in these doses

  • Children under 5: Up to 35 units per pound/day can usually be safely taken.
  • Children 5–10: About 400 IU daily. Up to 2,500 units/day can usually be safely taken.
  • Adults/pregnant women/breast-feeding women: Between 600–800 IU per day. Up to 5,000 units/day can be safely taken.

b. Magnesium is Essential:
A recent study published by Tarleton, et. al. found that magnesium chloride was an effective treatment modality for mild to moderate depression in adults, without the addictive side effects of standard antidepressants. The study concluded that magnesium chloride could be a “fast, safe, and easily accessible alternative” to pharmaceutical antidepressant medications. You can also do Epsom salt baths to support your magnesium levels.  It would also be wise to supplement with a good magnesium supplement.  A good one is magnesium L-threonate which may be the best form of magnesium for crossing the blood brain barrier.

I recommend ICMD mineral drops:

Ionic Concentrated Mineral Drops can optimize the function of enzymes in the body, especially energy-producing enzymes, responsiveness of muscles, glands, nerve tissue, blood clotting, and help remove toxins, strengthen of bones, joints, and teeth. The original product was developed by the Anderson family since 1969.

Look for Anderson’s Sea M.D. Concentrated Trace Mineral Drops, Ionic Electrolyte Magnesium Supplement.

How Much to Take?

20 drops once or twice daily can provide the body with a wide range of health benefits including increased energy and vitality.

Benefits of Concentrated Mineral Drops (ICMD)

  • Balances pH of acids and bases in the body, macro and micro nutrients.
  • Stabilizes high blood and low blood pressure.
  • As a catalyst helps the absorption of food essences to all organs of the body.

c. Lithium – 1 mg (1000 mcg) per day stops hippocampus shrinkage
According to Dr. Michael Nehls, Lithium is the best natural inhibitor of suppression in the hippocampus organ of the brain. Even 1 mg of Lithium supplement per day can stop Alzheimer’s. Seafood Fish from ocean, mussels, etc. have 100 times more lithium than freshwater seafood. Omega 3 fatty acids from fish are excellent. Lithium is an essential trace element with no side effects that activates new neuron growth, promotes autophage or getting rid of old cells in the brain.

Lithium is a natural antidote to depression, and it is recommended for mental health. Lithium helpful for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and for depression.

d. Coconut Oil with MCT’s for Brain Health
Coconut oil and the MCTs it contains are effective for optimizing brain function, preventing Alzheimer’s and dementia. Adding coconut oil to your diet has protective benefits for brain health.

MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) are critical for brain neuron development, according to Dr. Bruce Fife, author of the book: Stop Alzheimer’s Now! Coconut oil’s unique MCT’s are more easily broken down, and are used as a backup source of energy for your brain.

e. Adaptogenic Herbs
Adaptogenic herbs are healing plants that reduce stress hormones and relax the nervous system. They help to balance and protect the delicate brain chemistry by reducing cortisol levels that come with stress.

f. Probiotic Foods:
Eat probiotic foods to raise your energy level, stimulate cognitive function and promote mental wellbeing. Probiotic foods include kefir, yogurt, kombucha, miso, raw cheese and fermented vegetables.

9. What to Avoid?

Depression is a complex pattern of negative habitual activities, thoughts, emotions, and toxins. To break the pattern, just start anywhere. Especially avoid these toxic substances and activities that tighten the grip of Depression even more. So, smile, grit your teeth and get with it!

Avoid Smoking, Sugar, Exhaust, Alcohol, Processed foods, White rice, Flour, processed grains, Genetically modified foods, Farming Chemicals, Pesticides, Antibiotics, Chlorinated water, Candida, Antibacterial soap, Agricultural chemicals, Pollution, Vaccines, WiFi, Heavy Metals, Aluminum, Mercury, Lead. Fluoride, Drugs, Addictive substances, and all Pharmaceuticals.

  • Avoid WiFi and EMF’s, especially at night during sleep. Use hardwired cable internet. Use EMF protection devices.
  • Turn off your computers and cell phones at night. Live far from cell tower.
  • Avoid junk food that may contain graphene oxide and hidden nano-bot bio-sensors.
  • Avoid bottled water, as many brands contain bio-sensors and graphene oxide.
  • Avoid processed food, high in nano-technology, mineral deficient.
  • Avoid pesticides, especially glyphosate, as it destroys microbiome friendly bacteria. Glyphosate also depletes essential minerals in your body.
  • Avoid all vaccines and injections, which contain graphene oxide, iron oxide, m-RNA, DNA modification, parasites, and can assemble self-replicating bio-sensors that control your body remotely.
  • Avoid surgery which may insert implanted external computing devices or chips into the body.

10. Conclusion:

“Depression is not a disease, it is the end point of a pathological process. It is a sign that our lives are out of balance, that we’re stuck. It’s a wake-up call and the start of a journey that can help us become whole and happy, a journey that can change and transform our lives.”  Dr. Michael Nehls

It takes years to establish a pattern of imbalance in our lives. Likewise, it may require time, determination, patience, strength, and resilience to reverse the body chemistry to restore health. You can do this. Indeed we all can do this. In fact we have no choice.

In your path I wish you well.
