If you believe modern deceptions are huge, please think again. Throughout history, even greater lies were quietly inserted into our reality. So gently we never noticed. Most of us accepted the subtle revisions as truth. Until recently. Suddenly human awareness began to rise and explode. We started to question things. We are seeing ourselves as clearly powerful, sovereign, united, and free.
Now that our shared reality is turning strongly to the positive, I’d like to discuss five concepts that hang as heavy weights over humanity. Lies are false ideas that infuse our deepest beliefs and shared world view every day. The roots of shame, separation, racism, self-hatred, and ignorance are hidden here, deep in the subconscious. Since we are all part of the collective, these scars belong to everyone. Even if you have done no wrong – they are still yours.
Now is time to heal. This is truly the shift of the ages. We can heal our society by being aware of deceptions that block the true human spirit. How to do that? We start by opening the mind to observe unconscious negative thought forms we carry. We meditate, pray, offer sacrifices and charity. We can do penance, apologize, and offer retribution. I offer five affirmations below. This will take a few years, and we will clear the wrongs.
In the big picture, history repeats itself. Well, it’s coming around again. The good news is that our shared reality is changing every day. The collective human perspective is now a palpable unity. This energy force includes all of us, every race, creed, and culture across the Earth, and of course the planet Earth and Nature. Old mistaken beliefs from our history have caused immeasurable suffering. These purposeful deceptions, often made for the short-term purpose to control, still pervade our language, education, governments, social interactions, and foundational beliefs.
Clearing our collective subconscious feels very uncomfortable, unsettling to most. Like layers of interconnected tectonic stones, we see our foundational common perspectives shift precariously. To me it feels as if they crack and reorganize while we sleep. In the morning everything is different. Yet, even in the face of lies, disputes, and violence, we continue to awaken to our true nature more every day. I’m confident that this time we will not repeat the old cycle.
“As an American in Asia, I see a vast difference in underlying beliefs between East and West. When I describe these five lies to people, they blink with wide eyes, shocked that any human could ever hold these beliefs. We should be too.”
These terrible lies powerfully separate humans from God, Nature, and each other. Our current discomfort of awakening just means that we are dissolving old deceptions. Staying on this path will bring us to higher levels of awareness. We can throw off old patterns of shame and powerlessness. As we dismantle subtle forms of control and division, we heal the deep roots of underlying false beliefs. We move forward into a Golden Age. We claim our God-given birthright as human beings.
The Five Biggest Lies in History:
- The Fall of Man. Adam and Eve sinned and fell from grace, therefore mankind lives in shame for all eternity.
- Original Sin. We are EVIL and can never be GOOD. (We are born of woman. Physical existence is a cursed life. We must FEAR GOD and especially FEAR SATAN.
- Sex is Evil. Woman is Evil. Instead of understanding this multi-dimensional power, we learn procreation is sinful and dirty, to be shunned.
- Your Soul Lives Only Once. Jesus and early Christians believed in reincarnation. But the Second Council of Constantinople in 553 CE, made teachings about rebirth punishable by death.
- Doctrine of Discovery. Legal document gives permission to plant a flag of ownership on any non-Christian land, and registers worldwide births claiming the souls “for the church”.
It’s time to remove the lies hidden in our deep foundational beliefs. They represent subconscious scars in our reality.
What are the original sources of these flawed concepts? And what prayers or affirmations can we use to heal effectively?
Lie #1 – The Fall of Man
The Fall of Man is a concept from Genesis 3 in the Bible Old Testament.
In this story, Adam and Eve committed a sin. They disobeyed God and fell from grace. They were expelled from Eden. As a result, all mankind lives in shame forever.
“The Fall of Man is one of the most cruel concepts in history. It has caused millions to believe they are separate from and cursed by God, to live in eternal shame and pain.”
We all know the story, interpreted widely and diversely. Adam and Eve disobeyed God when Satan, supposedly “disguised as a snake” tempted Eve to eat the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge. Eve gave Adam the fruit and they both ate. God became angry at their sin and banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden forever. After the Fall, every person in the world is born into a state of sin, and must be punished. God cursed mankind with hardship, pain and difficulty.
By eating the fruit they discovered the wisdom of Good and Evil; they became aware they were naked. But due to their transgression, Adam and Eve lose the opportunity for eternal life and ascendance into Heaven for all humanity for all time. Some say this sin of humanity can be healed by Jesus Christ, or through baptism. Further interpretations and embellishment of this flawed logic brings some to add even more misfortune on us:
- Humans are cursed and flawed by nature.
- God says women are created second, from the rib of Man. (contradicted in Genesis 2)
- God commands women to serve man as secondary and subservient partner.
- Women are cursed in painful childbirth. Both men and women are slaves to Yahweh.
- Humans can strive to know God only through the Holy Roman Church.
- God is cruel and to be feared. Even an innocent error eating the wrong fruit can lead to eternal damnation.
- To become “like God” is dangerous and demented. Humans are eternally separate from the divine.
I do accept the Holy Bible as a sacred document. I understand the story of Adam and Eve may have been interpreted and mis-interpreted in myriad ways. Did the original Sumerian tale describe humans being blocked from enlightenment by higher “gods”? Or did the church embellish the story? Have we accepted a negative interpretation from Rome? Is the Christian “God” a cruel God? There are too many unanswered questions here. Unfortunately, for millions of people, this story has brought terrible sadness and pain in the world.
Affirmation to heal the world: “I am a sacred human being born under the love and protection of the highest God, whose light I carry within me with love and honor. I hereby reject any idea that I am evil, cursed or somehow less than any human, any God, any organization, or force of Nature.”
Lie #2 – Original Sin. We are EVIL and can never be GOOD.
Rome actually RE-DEFINED GOOD and EVIL. The logic goes like this: Humans are born of woman and sexual desire of man, therefore physical birth and existence is inherently EVIL. So, humans can never be GOOD and succeed in finding our pure spirituality. We must FEAR GOD and especially FEAR SATAN.
What is Good vs. Evil?
Good vs. Evil has long been in the collective mind of humanity, even before the Bible named it. In Buddhism every major archetype encompasses both dark and light. The Yin Yang represents perfect balance of the dual forces of Nature. In the Western psyche, we often attempt to prove our opponent is EVIL, or BAD. Some say this concept has to do with Light vs. Dark. Others say it is about Service to Others vs. Service to Self.
In the first century CE many people believed the physical flesh to be cursed and evil. Pagan celebrations often involved public demonstrations of purification in self-denial, castration, flagellation, and baptism in the blood of a bull as a spiritual cleansing.
The prophet Mani was influenced by early Christian ascetics. Manicheism taught that the body, all flesh, and the physical world to be a lower level of existence. To be born of the womb of woman was considered cursed at birth. Some of the early gods had mysterious births that did not involve sex, as Mithra born from a rock. However, the spirit world is good, and we must strive to find the light. Mani’s higher level followers took vows of chastity, believing sexual reproduction to be immoral, as it only perpetuated the cycle of reincarnation and human suffering. Manicheism regarded men and women as spiritual equals. And it was vehemently opposed by the Roman Catholic church. The 13th-century noble Cathars in Southern France came from the Mani tradition, and we know the stor – the Catholic Church had some 20,000 Cathars brutally murdered by the local barons, who then claimed all their lands.
Roman theologian Saint Augustine (354-430 C.E.) popularized the doctrine of Original Sin, in spite of early church fathers who were opposed to this gnostic doctrine. St. Augustine as a young man was a follower of Manicheism, and had a consort with whom me had children. He became a powerful force in molding Christian theology and the New Testament. Augustine held that when mankind obeys God, we are granted immortality in Heaven. However if we are disobedient we will die a spiritual death of eternal separation from God, as in Hell. This can be interpreted in myriad ways.
The new Roman church offered easy personifications of EVIL. The familiar names of evil are Satan, the Devil, the Serpent, Baal, Moloch, etc. Once the stereotypes of good and evil are clear, we can try to define GOOD and EVIL actions, identify GOOD and EVIL people. We can make a series of hard rules to live by, and create church codes to enforce them with fear. That is exactly what the church did. God was to be FEARED. The FEAR of ETERNAL DAMNATION was a highly effective control tool.
“Original Sin is an unthinkable thought form, one of the most depressing, repulsive, and revolting concepts in existence. It is an insult to God and humankind alike.”
Perhaps the actual beings that personified EVIL were real at one point. I don’t know. However even if not, these beings definitely became real as EVIL thought forms in the collective mind.
People in high positions of power have always played on the edges between GOOD and EVIL, DARK and LIGHT. The Christian church is no exception. Although priests were required to be celibate at one time and homosexuality was discouraged, obviously other things went on behind closed doors.
Some higher clergy members were accused of “selling their soul to the devil”. For example, Pope Sylvester II (946-1003) was a Renaissance man hundreds of years before the time, his intellect so great that it aroused suspicion that he was a sorcerer. In one version of the legend, he was told that only in Jerusalem would his debt to the devil be paid. But one day, on hearing mass in a church in Rome called the “Holy Cross of Jerusalem”, he discovered he was doomed by the name, and soon fell mortally ill. In another version, the Pope was brutally attacked by the devil during the Mass, and his eyes gouged out. Who knows what is true? I’m just saying that some elements of our church top brass have always played in the DARK side.
The Doctrine of Original Sin says we are born EVIL with moral weakness, cursed by the fall of Adam and Eve. Thus, we are led to believe that sin permeates all of humankind like a poison? Certainly, Original Sin is the ultimate weapon to separate humans from God and discourage any effort to claim our true divinity.
Affirmation to heal the world: “I am a sacred human being born under the love and protection of the highest God, whose light I carry within me with love and honor. I hereby reject any idea that I am evil, cursed, or somehow less than any human, any God, any organization, or force of Nature.”
Lie #3 – Sex is Evil, Woman is Evil.
The idea that Sex is Evil is common worldwide.
The power and spiritual mystery of procreation confounds us all. So it is understandable that this subject causes confusion. Many of us were told that ALL sex is sinful and dirty. That might be effective to scare children, but it doesn’t work for aware adults. A repressive attitude blocks us from discovering our roots, blocks us from linking physical with spiritual realms, which is our birthright.
Eve’s mistake shows women are dirty, evil temptresses and cannot be trusted. Women still have a subservient position in society. Is this just a continuation of the church’s edicts?
What is the Root Source of the Belief “Sex is Evil”?
Saint Augustine was a major force in Christianity’s denigration of sex as evil and the subjugation of women. He regarded human physicality and sexuality as evil and wrong. As a result, many Christian concepts of sexuality are fraught with deep subconscious layers of fear, shame, and judgment. How did this happen? Saint Augustine made a distinctly sexual interpretation of the Hebrew story Adam and Eve, far beyond the actual words of the Bible, where sex is not mentioned. From this he theorized that human embodiment and physical desire stem from Eve’s fall into sin. He associated Eve in particular with carnal lust, as the archetype of women. Due to her sin, Eve became subordinate to male authority, clearly the lesser partner in marriage, cursed in painful giving birth.
We can understand better when we learn that Augustine was influenced by Manicheism that he practiced as a young man. Manicheism is a gnostic almost-Christian tradition that believed physical life is cursed. The highest practitioners did not have sex, in order to not perpetuate the curse of birth by woman represented by physical existence. They believed physical was the lowly opposite of spiritual, Manicheist followers did not even touch food. Instead their food was prepared by other lesser members of the sect. Manicheism had many uplifting practices, especially purity and independence. Maybe that’s why their descendants, the noble Cathars, were brutally murdered by the Catholic Church.
Eunuchs could be more spiritual than others
A man’s desire for castration could be admired as proof of his extraordinary chastity. Eunuchs were considered more “spiritual”. Thus, it could be not only acceptable for a Christian to be a eunuch, but actually admirable, especially they had made themselves a eunuch “for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.”
Augustine further ‘interpreted’ from the Bible First Testament to say that sin was passed biologically from Adam to all his descendants through the sex act itself, thus equating sexual desire with sin. I do not understand. How did Augustine reach this interpretation at a time when marital sex in Jewish society was considered honorable and good? Is this an example of the pervasive and false ‘double standard’ so common in Mediterranean society?
Was Jesus a Married Man? Did he have Female Followers?
The Bible tells us that Jesus was unmarried and had 12 male disciples. However, we know that to become a Rabbi by Jewish Law at that time, a man was required to be married. According to the Talmud of Jmmanuel, lost book of the Bible discovered in 1963, Jesus Christ had 12 males and 17 female disciples, to whom he taught the true methods of spirit healing:
“Among his followers it is said Jesus had 12 male disciples and 17 female disciples, plus his close friend Maria-Magdalena, and his mother. He gave all these people knowledge about controlling unclean spirits so that they could drive them out. This gave them the power to heal all sickness and all shortcomings by using deep word (powerful suggestion). The healings could take place through words that touch the soul and penetrate into the spirit, as well as through all sorts of herbal drinks, salves and salts.”
Sadly, I believe the Christian religion has painted itself into a corner by defining sex as evil. But they took it even further. The Church invented specific rules regarding sexual activity that are difficult to believe. The rules prescribed when one can and can’t have sex with your spouse, what days of the week, what sacred holidays, and what were the sinful positions. They prescribed certain thoughts about sex, oral, anal, and wrote specific confession requirements for sex with animals. Yes, they even spelled this out.
“Our sexuality is beyond definition, as joyful union, where the physical and spiritual meet.
Sexuality and morality are fertile topics in both East and West, with myriad practices, and solutions. In some traditions, priests, monks, and nuns are required to be celibate, a rule that sometimes works to promote spiritual development, and sometimes not. The challenges of living in a physical body are particularly apparent with respect to sex. In a world based on dualism, where physical is evil, but spiritual is sacred, to stereotype these as bad and good is far too simplistic. (The Buddha suggested that we consider the circumstances of each case and choose accordingly.) As we discard the scars and shackles of control, I hope someday humans can discover the wisdom of conscious sex and joyful procreation.
Affirmation to heal the world: “I am a sacred human being born under the love and protection of the highest God, whose light I carry within me with love and honor. I consider my body a divine gift for me to have, to hold, and to enjoy for my entire lifetime. I understand sexuality is a powerful, sacred force of Nature, not to be engaged in thoughtlessly or ignorantly. I accept my sexuality as natural and good. I reject any idea that my physical nature is negative or evil.”
Lie #4 – “You Only Live Once”
“You only live once”, we often say in the West. But it wasn’t always like that. In Biblical times and the words of Jesus Christ, we find a clear belief in reincarnation. Recent polls show that 51% of the world and 25% of American Christians believe in reincarnation.
In Eastern cultures, rebirth is a cornerstone of society. In the Bhagavad Gita, the blue God Krishna says: “The Soul Never Dies.” A virtuous life leads to a positive rebirth in the next life. Over several lifetimes, one can complete all earthly lessons and finally end the cycle of death and rebirth to reach enlightenment, or permanent union with God. This was once the goal of all religion.
How was Reincarnation Outlawed in Christianity?
To answer this question, we have to go back to an early Christian ascetic, Origen of Alexandria, who in 250 CE who wrote extensively about the pre-existence of the soul and reincarnation. He was a brilliant theologian who taught that the soul’s very source was God and that the soul traveled back to oneness with God via reincarnation. He ran into trouble with the Roman Emperor Decius, who issued an edict ordering everyone in the Empire to perform a sacrifice to the Roman gods of the time for the well-being of the emperor. Sacrifices had to be performed in the presence of a Roman magistrate, signed, and witnessed. Many early Christians were executed or died in prison for refusing to perform the ceremony.
After his father was killed in the bloody persecution, Origen himself sought martyrdom, only to be stopped by his mother. He followed an ascetic lifestyle, and is said to have castrated himself to curb sexual desire. How did he castrate himself? We don’t know, however a common way was to have the testicles surgically clipped off. Origen founded the Christian School of Caesarea in Alexandria, where he taught logic, cosmology, natural history, and theology, and became known as the ultimate authority on all matters of theology. His writings were adopted by the church in the 4th century.
However, later at the Second Council of Constantinople in 553 CE, Origen’s writings on past lives became a central issue. Emperor Justinian declared Origen’s writings condemned and destroyed. He assembled the Council to “resolve” several religious dilemmas “by law”, demanding all church leaders sign the decree that anyone who asserts the “preexistence of souls” would be punished by death.
❞𝕴𝖋 𝖆𝖓𝖞𝖔𝖓𝖊 𝖆𝖘𝖘𝖊𝖗𝖙𝖘 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖋𝖆𝖓𝖙𝖆𝖘𝖙𝖎𝖈 𝖕𝖗𝖊𝖊𝖝𝖎𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖓𝖈𝖊 𝖔𝖋 𝖘𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖘, 𝖜𝖍𝖎𝖈𝖍 𝖑𝖊𝖆𝖉𝖘 𝖙𝖔 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖒𝖔𝖓𝖘𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖚𝖘 𝖎𝖉𝖊𝖆 𝖙𝖍𝖆𝖙 𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖞 𝖗𝖊𝖙𝖚𝖗𝖓, 𝖑𝖊𝖙 𝖍𝖎𝖒 𝖇𝖊 𝖆𝖓𝖆𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖒𝖆.❞
Emperor Justinian’s only obstacle to the approval of this law was the powerful Pope Vigilius of Rome. Vigilius believed in rebirth and declined to sign the papal decree. It seems Emperor Justinian called the Second Council to meet in Constantinople. He secretly had Pope Vigilius arrested, convinced the other ecumenical leaders in the Pope’s absence that the papal decree was authentic, effectively forcing the Pope to swallow the decree against his will when he was released from jail. After the fateful Council meeting, on Pope Vigilius’ trip back home to Rome, he was killed under suspicious circumstances.
Early Bible manuscripts and the Gnostic Bible expressed a firm belief in rebirth. However, in the 6th century and during the Inquisition these believers were mostly eliminated by the Roman Catholic Church. For example, Giordano Bruno, a Dominican friar, philosopher, mathematician, poet, and cosmologician. Bruno believed in the vastness of human potential, and that salvation was not linked to one’s relationship with the church, but to one’s direct relationship with God.
The Roman Catholic Church rejected all belief in rebirth, which undermined the authority of the church. Sadly, during the 1600 CE Inquisition, Bruno was executed in Rome, burned at the stake for his heretical views on rebirth. The Bible was cleansed of any passages that support it.
“Jesus and early Christians believed in reincarnation. Roman denial of rebirth has blocked human awareness of our greater cosmic destiny.”
A Gnostic fragment from the Secret Gospel of Mark discovered in Nag Hammadi in 1945 describes Jesus performing secret initiation rites. Gnostic writings were described by Father Clement of Alexandria (150 AD – 211 AD), as “a more spiritual gospel for the use of those who were being perfected.” He said: “It even yet is most carefully guarded [by the church at Alexandria], being read only to those who are being initiated into the great mysteries.” Clement insists that Jesus revealed a secret teaching to those who were “capable of receiving it and being molded by it.” Devout Gnostics were spiritual critics of the Roman Church which they viewed as a popularization as a vulgarization of the true word of Christ. The Roman Catholic church stressed faith, while the Gnostic church stressed knowledge (gnosis). This secret knowledge taught the attainment of spiritual ascension.
After the edict was passed, infants were said to be “born guilty” in solidarity with Adam, and in great need of redemption. And St. Augustine held the only way to safeguard children against the perils of sin was to baptize them.
What was the Original Purpose of Baptism?
The Talmud of Jmmanuel, a lost book of the bible, called John the Baptist “John, the one who carries out the initiation”. The baptism of Jesus Christ was an initiation into an ancient spiritual practice, a recognition of his attainment, that had very little to do with repentance to “drive out the devil” or to forgive original sin.
Emperor Justinian declared that child baptism is essential to bring a new soul to God.
Since 1540 and the Papal Bull of Pope Paul III, when a child’s Baptismal Certificate is issued, it means the parents have gifted, granted, and conveyed the soul of the baby to a “3rd” CQV Trust owned by Roman Cult, which has held this valuable property in its vaults forever.
Your birth certificate serves as the title of your soul, which the Vatican legally owns in their registries.
Nowadays the idea that ‘you only live once’ is a foundation of modern society. The Roman authorities’ underlying motive of control is clear to us now in retrospect. If common people realized they were forever children of God and part of God, they might no longer need an Emperor, or pay taxes, or obey the Holy Roman Church. The Roman edict said if people were not baptized, then they would be “cut off from God and doomed to Hell.” The edict did the trick. The modern belief that “You only live once” is now fundamental to Western thought.
Affirmation to heal the world: “I am a sacred human being born under the love and protection of the highest God, whose light I carry within me with love and honor. I open myself to discover the breadth and true nature of my destiny in this and other times. I hereby deny any attempt to obstruct my beliefs in my larger cosmic family.”
Lie #5 – Doctrine of Discovery
The Doctrine of Discovery allows explorers to claim ownership of any non-Christian land in the universe!
Yes, this actually happened in 1493. Incredible as it seems, the Doctrine of Discovery granted land rights to a European Christian nation that found a New World territory. Any area occupied by “unbelievers, heathens, pagans, and infidels” such as the Americas, was declared terra nullius (“nobody’s land”).
The document was the Papal Bull “Inter Caetera,” by Pope Alexander VI, which played a central role in the Spanish conquest of the New World. It supported Spain’s strategy to claim exclusive right to the lands discovered by Columbus the previous year. It gave Spain the exclusive right to own and trade in these areas. This effectively gave Spain a monopoly on the New World. It was declared that “the Catholic faith and the Christian religion must be exalted and be everywhere increased and spread, so that the health of souls be cared for, and barbarian nations be overthrown and brought to the true faith.” The Doctrine of Discovery became the basis of all European claims and slavery throughout the world.
The Doctrine of Discovery essentially said that any native populations of “discovered lands” were not “human” and could therefore not possibly possess a right to any land or property, so that essentially everything that the European explorers “discovered” was theirs to claim!
“The ‘Doctrine of Discovery’ gave Europe free permission to own land, resources, and slaves all over the world, in the name of the church.”
The beginning to legally promote racism and exclusive rights for the Church’s emissaries, within our subconscious beliefs:
- Racism: Dark skinned people are inferior.
- Racism: White people are superior, etc….
- Discrimination: Non-Christian are unholy, rejected by God.
- Western money system of exchange all over the world.
- European laws became world-wide.
- Native people had only a right of occupancy, which could be abolished at any time.
- The European State-Church owned everything, dividing the world wealth among themselves.
Affirmation to heal the world: “I am a sacred human being born under the love and protection of the highest God, whose light I carry within me with love and honor. I accept myself exactly as I am. I respect and honor all sentient beings in the universe. I acknowledge that I am neither superior nor inferior to any of these. I hereby repudiate and reject any attempt to divide humankind by color, sexuality, ethnicity, wealth, homeland, habits, or physical qualities as stupid and evil. I honor all humanity’s desire to be free and happy.”
7. Conclusion: How to remove lies from our deep shared subconscious?
These five lies have a single common objective: To separate humans from union with God and Nature. Well, that’s probably the greatest crime you can commit. Should we be angry? Yes, I am angry. However, sadly, I am also responsible. It was my ancestors that did the crimes, and also my ancestors that suffered the crimes. I may have participated in crimes in past lives. Yes, I am angry – for a little while. We must let the anger pass. Then we use it to stimulate us to DO SOMETHING about the wrongs. We heal the scars in the collective awareness.
Beware the Double Standard!
Double-standards pervade our modern society – maybe triple and quadruple! We humans are multi-layered, multi-dimensional beings. We are both sacred and also deeply flawed, and our subconscious and conscious minds are often out of harmony with each other. That means we can hold several opposing subconscious views simultaneously. So I can hire all minority managers for my company and still deny that any of my own heritage comes from those ethnicities. I can rape a young child today and tomorrow arrest someone for the same crime without blinking an eye. In Asia some say the caste system is a myth, but at the same time bow respectfully to a Brahman or see an untouchable with distaste. In Italy a person may be viciously criticized for an extra-marital affair by the very people doing it every day. Ha Ha! Beware of double and triple standards we all hold.
To remove a lie from our deep shared subconscious, we first recognize its importance and how it affects us. Then we practice the opposite thought. The opposite of fear is love. We do acts of kindness, penance, sacrifice, and charity. We can use deep prayer and meditation. We visualize what we want and discover who we truly are. We practice integrity and positive INTENT. These are the best techniques I know. We can clear everything in time. The more sincerely we all do it, the faster we will enter a new Golden Age.
